Overview

A sliding door system for glass and wood wardrobe doors

Bridge 500 & 600 is a sliding door system for wardrobes. Bridge 500 forms aluminium-framed doors in glass, wood or glass-and-wood, and Bridge 600 carries wood panels with or without an aluminium handle profile. Doors run on an upper and lower rail, carry up to 60 kg, and can close softly on a damper or stop on a traditional stopper.

  • One rail system, two door styles. Bridge 500 and 600 share rails, dampers and stoppers, so one wardrobe design can use either.
  • Four handle profiles plus a corner version on Bridge 500, for different door looks and for corner wardrobes.
  • Flexible door layouts. Single, two, three and four-panel door configurations in the manufacturer's catalogue.
  • Soft-close or stopper braking, with a 60 kg damper kit and a traditional stopper.
  • Door profiles also work with the B800 suspended sliding system, per the manufacturer.

Handle profiles, panels and corner doors

Bridge 500 doors are built from aluminium vertical handle profiles, upper, intermediate and lower crosspieces, and the panel itself. The profile that you choose sets the look of the door edge and decides which roller kit and brush go with it.

Wood-panel doors with or without a handle profile

Bridge 600 is the wood-panel version of the system. With the aluminium handle profile 010827 and counter-handle profile 010828, it takes wooden panels of 18 mm or 19 mm. Without a handle profile the maximum panel thickness is 22 mm.

  • Standard finish: natural anodised (arc10). Alternative finishes can be made on request.
  • Divider profile 010847 for two-panel doors, assembled so that either 11 mm or 1 mm is visible, which gives two design options.
  • Same rails and braking as Bridge 500, including the 60 kg damper kit and traditional stopper.

Fitting

Height adjustment at the lower roller

Doors are levelled after hanging by adjusting the lower roller. Bridge 500 allows ±3 mm of height adjustment, and the Bridge 600 lower roller allows a maximum of 6 mm. Both built-in and surface-fixed rollers can be adjusted with a screwdriver.

Adjustment is part of the fitter's routine, so factor in door clearance when you cut panels.

Sizing

How to calculate Bridge 600 door sizes

The manufacturer gives these formulas for Bridge 600 doors. B is the opening width, HV the opening height, A the door width and HA the door height. All sizes are in millimetres.

WhatFormula
Door height HAHV − 55
Door width A, 2 doors(B + 37) / 2
Door width A, 3 doors(B + 74) / 3
Door width A, 4 doors(B + 111) / 4
Panel width X, 18 mm wood panelA − 55
Panel width X, 19 mm wood panelA − 67
Panel height Y, door split in 2(HA − 1.5) / 2
Panel height Y, door split in 3(HA − 3) / 3

Formulas come from the Bridge 600 catalogue. Check them against the latest drawings with Mirano before you cut panels.

Worked example: for an opening of 2400 mm wide and 2400 mm high with two doors, door height HA is 2345 mm and each door width A is 1218.5 mm.

FAQ

Bridge 500 & 600: frequently asked questions

What is the Bridge 500 & 600 sliding system?

Bridge is a sliding door system for wardrobes from System Holz (Gruppo Pozzi, Italy). Bridge 500 builds aluminium-framed doors in glass, wood or glass-and-wood combinations using a choice of vertical handle profiles. Bridge 600 is the wood-panel version, available with an aluminium handle profile or without one. Both carry doors up to 60 kg and share the same rails, dampers and stoppers.

What is the maximum door weight?

The manufacturer states a maximum door weight of 60 kg for Bridge 500, and the soft-close damper kit is rated for a 60 kg door. Bridge 600 uses the same 60 kg damper kit and the same stopper. Check the weight of your finished door, including glass, against this limit.

What is the difference between Bridge 500 and Bridge 600?

Bridge 500 is an aluminium-frame system for glass, wood or glass-and-wood doors, with four vertical handle profiles and a corner version. Bridge 600 is for wood panels only: with the aluminium handle profile 010827 it takes 18 mm or 19 mm panels, and without a handle profile it takes panels up to 22 mm using built-in or surface-fixed lower rollers.

Can Bridge doors be soft closing?

Yes. Both systems accept a soft-close damper kit (code 000K342, 50 mm stroke, 60 kg capacity) or a traditional stopper (code 000T221). The damper must be armed before it is inserted into the upper rail.

Which glass and wood panel thicknesses can Bridge 500 take?

Per the gasket table in the manufacturer's instructions, Bridge 500 takes 4 mm or 6 mm glass with gasket 020087, 8 mm wood panels with gasket 020089, 8 mm glass or wood with gasket 020117, and 10 mm wood without a gasket.

Can I build a corner wardrobe with Bridge 500?

Yes. Bridge 500 includes a corner door version using corner profile 011207 and a 45 degree nylon corner cover strip, code 02NV482.

How do I calculate door sizes for Bridge 600?

The manufacturer gives formulas. Door height HA equals opening height minus 55 mm. For two doors, door width A equals (opening width + 37) divided by 2; for three doors (opening width + 74) divided by 3; for four doors (opening width + 111) divided by 4. Panel formulas for 18 mm and 19 mm panels are on this page. Always confirm with Mirano before cutting.

What finish do the aluminium profiles come in?

For Bridge 600 the standard profile finish is natural anodised, with alternative finishes possible on request. Finish options for Bridge 500 profiles are not listed in the catalogue, so confirm the finish for your project on enquiry.
